Charles Griffith Pomnitz
1941 Plane Crash in
Ypsilanti, Michigan

All that remained of the
Aeronca NC 24249 after
engine failure during
Chuck Pomnitz's  last
solo flight.  He was about
to receive his pilot's
license, but never
piloted another aircraft
again.

Fortunately, Chuck
survived, though
newspaper accounts
had listed him as
being killed.
